Larger and more comprehensive than any other healthcare association,
the American Medical Association initiated a smoking cessation campaign,
the SmokeLess States National Tobacco Policy Initiative. With the
support of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, SmokeLess States
provided information and news concerning key tobacco policy issues.
To help achieve this goal, the American Medical Association hired
Warren McKenna Design Group to provide website strategy and development.
The W/M Design Group team provided best-of-breed navigational
and strategic design recommendations as well as technical website
building capabilities to best organize the site’s extensive
content. The result is a more intuitive, functional site flow,
and a more efficient layout. Additional recommendations streamlined
the building of each page to ensure better performance and reduced
download time. Technical components were developed to allow for
dynamic content management, which generated significant time and
cost savings for the AMA. W/M Design Group also added value via
new functionality, such as the ability for users to communicate
with the organization via a web-enabled path. Today, over 10 years
of success are chronicled and readily accessible on the SmokeLess
States’ website.
