Commissioned
to assist the City of Chicago Department of Environment, the Chicago
Brownfields project showcases the City of Chicago’s
aggressive program to reverse urban blight in abandoned, unused
or underused commercial properties.
Dubbed “Brownfields,” these areas with actual or perceived
contamination in Chicago have been transformed into productive technological
and manufacturing businesses, green spaces, and affordable housing.
As a result, more than 400 cities around the country are striving
to emulate Chicago’s approach and are sending officials to
tour the redeveloped Brownfields sites in Chicago. The Warren McKenna
Design Group is proud to have played a role in sustainability and
land reclamation for the greater good.
Co-collaborators on this large public relations success story for
the City of Chicago Department of Environment include Cultural Communications,
Diane Laux Consulting, Ted Lacey Photography and Jorge Chino Publishing.
