The Zion Fire and Rescue Department operates two full-time facilities. Station One, located in our historic downtown next door to City Hall, and Station Two at the intersection of 21st and Lewis Avenue. The department employs 25 full-time firefighters and three additional Paid On Call staff. The mission of the Zion Fire and Rescue Department is "to prevent and extinguish accidental or destructive fires occurring in the city; to provide emergency medical treatment to those persons in need in the city; to transport such persons, when necessary, to a hospital and to enforce all codes relating to fire hazards.”
