The City of Zion provides a variety of services to our residents,
many free of charge. Zion maintains a full-time Fire and Rescue
Department, proactive Building And Public Works Departments,
an accredited Police Department, an aggressive full-time Economic
Development Department and a variety of city staff to answer
your needs and questions from city stickers to voter registration
to plan review.
The Mayor's Office of Public Affairs prepares a bi-annual
newsletter that is distributed to every resident in the city
to keep our citizens informed of upcoming events, changes
to public policy and the latest on programs, such as “Christmas
in April.” Zion also transmits all council meetings
on Channel 19 of the local cable access network to keep the
public informed of the latest events at City Hall.
Zion maintains a fully functionally website allowing residents
to interact with local officials and city staff as well as
obtain valuable information at the click of a mouse. In cooperation
with the Zion Park District and Zion Township Office the city
offers a wide range of services to our senior citizen population
from weekly outings to prescription drug discount vouchers.
