ALDI Food Stores expects to begin construction in spring 2003. Enterprise Rent-a-car will open a branch office in downtown Zion by summer 2003. Grand Appliance will make Zion its central distribution center for all six stores in 2003. It will also offer a showroom at the Zion facility. Country Inn and Suites is evaluating Zion as a potential location for a 75-room hotel More than 2,300 new homes are planned for the West Side of the city. Starting prices will exceed $200,000. The city recently hired a full-time economic development director to assist the City Council in attracting new investors and developers to the City of Zion. The City of Zion has three TIF Districts to assist developers in bringing new projects to the city. Trumpet Technology Park will soon be ready to be marketed to attract light manufacturing and jobs to our western borders.
