| Dear NEW RESIDENT,
We're flattered that you have chosen to make the City of Zion
your home. On behalf of the city and its residents, I would
like to welcome you with open arms.
One of the things that makes Zion unique is how proud its
residents are of their city, its heritage and its exciting
future. This excitement is embodied in the city's “Zion:
Heralding a New Future” campaign. Tangible results of
these efforts can be seen in the construction of new sidewalks,
vintage looking lampposts and flowerpots downtown. An invisible,
but much more extensive aspect of the “Heralding a New
Future” campaign is the economic development outreach.
Our city government is working overtime to make sure that
retailers know that there's room for commercial growth and
that manufacturers know that there are plenty of hard working
people in Zion. The goal is to entice these businesses to
make the same decision you did – to make a home in Zion.
As a result, now is a time of incredible change in Zion --
change for the better. Businesses are coming to town, retail
and otherwise, giving our residents more places to work, shop
and dine. This revitalization of our local economy is also
bringing more visitors and tourists to town, which benefits
our local merchants. In addition, people are becoming homeowners
in the thriving subdivisions and other new-home construction
around town.
This section of the Web site contains information about what
to do if you live in Zion (how to get a city vehicle sticker,
license for your pet, etc.). I hope you'll find it helpful.
If you have any questions about these things, or life in general
in Zion, please let us know.
As a lifelong (and third generation) resident of Zion, I've
learned that in addition to being a great place to live and
do business, Zion is a wonderful place to become part of a
community. And we hope you will do just that – become
part of our community.
Again, welcome, and I wish you the best of luck as you start
“Heralding A New Future” for yourself and your
family in Zion.
Best Regards,
LANE HARRISON
Mayor, City of Zion
